Zero Friction continues its growth in France: Client count reaches 13 with Semhach onboard
[Ghent, September 3, 2026] – Zero Friction, the SaaS platform dedicated to effortless utility billing and customer engagement for district heating, is proud to announce a new growth milestone in France. One year after announcing its first six partners, the company now supports 13 heat suppliers, with the recent addition of Semhach:

• Syan'Chaleur
• SIED 70
• Veolia Energie France
• Alter (Anjou Loire Territoire)
• Territoire d'Energie Lot-et-Garonne (TE47)
• SYDER
• Métropole Rouen Normandie
• Territoire d'énergie Hautes-Alpes (SyME05)
• Territoire d'énergie Somme (TE80)
• Ville de Voreppe
• Vinay
• Saint Marcellin Energie Bois
• Semhach
By partnering with these forward-thinking organizations, Zero Friction continues its mission to make billing and customer engagement easy, intuitive, and transparent, all while supporting the acceleration of the energy transition in France.
The go-live of Semhach was an ambitious project for the Zero Friction team: a new invoicing setup that lets clients spread advance payments unevenly across the year (lighter in summer, higher in another quarter, for example), multiple data migrations, and a Chorus Pro integration.
"I'm happy to share that Semhach is live, following a smooth onboarding: a new invoicing setup that spreads advance payments unevenly across the year, multiple migrations and Chorus Pro integration 🚀," said Olivia Bichara, Customer Success at Zero Friction.
"Reaching 13 clients in France is an important milestone for Zero Friction. It shows the trust the market places in us, and our teams keep pushing to deliver the best possible experience for every partner," said Wim Jacobs, CEO of Zero Friction. "We're proud of what we've built together, and we're just getting started."
"This milestone confirms the trust French heat network operators place in Zero Friction. Every new partner, like Semhach, helps us fine-tune our platform to fit the specific needs of each territory," added Adrien Chlot, Sales Lead France at Zero Friction.
📈 A growing market for heat networks
France plans to deploy more than 1,300 new heat networks by 2030, averaging two per department per year, with 90% in towns under 15,000 inhabitants. This growing momentum confirms the need for scalable digital tools like Zero Friction.
From automated billing to customer portals and insightful consumption overviews, Zero Friction offers the tools needed to streamline operations and engage end users more effectively.
Together, we're removing friction from billing and helping build the energy systems of tomorrow. 💨✨
